Yes. Guests rent the home for birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, and micro-weddings (weddings with under 24 guests), as well as executive retreats, YPO forums, company offsites, and team gatherings that enjoy a beautiful mansion and benefit from having everyone together in a private setting.

Can The Winthrop Estate be rented for retreats?

Yes, retreat leaders rent the home for yoga, meditation, writing, book clubs, YPO, and leadership retreats. The setting is designed to support time together, reflection, and group connection.

How many guests can the Winthrop Estate accommodate?

Accepted Answer

The Winthrop Estate has 13 bedrooms, 16 beds, and can accommodate up to 24 guests overnight.  We can also host up to 24 guests for gatherings, meals, meetings and celebrations.  If you are looking for an event venue for a group that is more than 24, we can recommend nearby venues that are able to host gatherings of more than 24 people.

Will our group have the entire estate to ourselves?

Yes, the Winthrop Estate is reserved for one group at a time.  Your group will have exclusive use of the mansion, including the accommodations, the meeting and the gathering spaces throughout your stay.

What is the minimum stay?

We have a two-night minimum most of the year and a three-night minimum during holiday times.

How can we see availability and prices? How much does it cost?

Click the Book Now button and submit your preferred dates and some details about you and your group and then we can scheudle a time to talk and let you know our availability and provide you a quote for your stay.  The Winthrop Estate is rented as a whole, not by the room, and starts at $5,000 per night plus tax.  We have a two night minimum. Final pricing depends on your dates, length of stay, and added services.

What amenities are available for guests?

Guest amenities include a sauna, cold plunge, lawn games, a home office, toys and board games, walking trails, a Solo stove, ping pong room, foosball tables, and more.

Can guests cook at the estate?

Accepted Answer

Yes, guests can cook in the modern, fully-equipped kitchen. If preferred, they can also hire or bring their own chefs or with with our chefs to arrange a variety of meal options.

Can the estate host micro-weddings?

Accepted Answer

Yes, couples use the estate for celebrations and micro-weddings for up to 24 guests. The property’s historic setting and elegant atmosphere make it a memorable place for intimate milestone gatherings.

Can the estate host larger events on the lawn?

At thsi time, we cannot accommodate events exceeding 24 attendees whether they are inside or outside.  We are happy to recommend nearby venues who can.

Yes, this website includes photos, videos, a virtual walking tour and a 360 video tour of the estate as well as information about our amenities and history.
